Original Motion Text

That this House notes the recording of the first ever programme link-up between the Parliaments of the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union on Monday 3rd June and its broadcast by Thames Television on Wednesday 5th June; notes the importance of television in developing and maintaining the principles of democratic participation throughout the world; and acknowledges that the programme is illustrative of the outstanding contribution made by Thames Television and other ITV companies to the development of innovative quality television for which Britain is renowned the world over.
