That this House recognises the appalling situation faced by patients in Wales, where one in 10 of the population are on an NHS Wales waiting list, despite increased resources from the United Kingdom Treasury; and notes the United Kingdom Government's reticence to intervene to help Wales get a fair deal.

WAITING LISTS IN WALES (Amendment 1)
leave out from `recognises' to end and add `the recent reduction in the number of people waiting for hospital operations in Wales; applauds the work of NHS staff in Wales in making this possible; notes that between January and the end of February, the number of people waiting 18 months or more for an operation reduced by 41.3 per cent. and those waiting 12 months or more reduced by 31.5 per cent.; and recognises the success of the National Assembly for Wales Labour Government's Second Offer Guarantee Scheme which has significantly reduced the wait period for Welsh patients.' .
