Motion text

That this House recognises the important role biofuels can play in meeting the UK's Kyoto commitments while providing farmers with a valuable new market for crops; regrets that the Government has done virtually nothing to promote the real contribution that the countryside can make to renewable energy through biofuels; and calls on the Government to stimulate a viable UK industry in biofuels through duty rebates and the Renewable Fuel Obligation.
