Motion text

That this House notes the ongoing humanitarian crisis occurring across the African continent; welcomes the interest shown by many in helping to resolve it; deplores the death rate in Darfur, the HIV/AIDS epidemic in many parts of the continent and the eviction of approximately 200,000 people in Zimbabwe's urban areas; notes that these are but an indication of the scale of the problems; and calls upon the Government to spearhead an international drive to help resolve Africa's poverty and corruption, allowing the peoples there to develop and sustain their economies for the future.
