Motion text

That this House applauds Westminster City Council's proposal to allow motorcycles to use bus lanes in the City of Westminster; believes that allowing motorcycles into bus lanes is a measure which can help to improve motorcycle safety without making a negative impact on bicycle and pedestrian safety; notes that large numbers of local authorities now allow motorcycles to use bus lanes in recognition of how motorcycle use can help reduce congestion and pollution, so contributing to a better traffic environment; and calls on the Secretary of State for Transport to approve Westminster City Council's proposal to amend relevant road signs to show that motorcycles are allowed to use bus lanes in the City of Westminister.
