Motion text

That this House views with concern the decision by the Secretary of State to transfer the powers of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive to the proposed new super councils, in view of the Housing Executive's high level of acceptability and high levels of performance on all matters pertaining to housing; further notes the cross-party opposition of Northern Ireland political parties to such a move; and asks the Secretary of State to reconsider his decision.

after `housing', insert `is nonetheless concerned at the continuing under-representation of Protestants in its workforce; hopes that, whatever the future of the Executive, the workforce employed by social housing agencies should reflect, as far as possible, the wider community of Northern Ireland.'.
