That this House notes its concern for human, social and economic devastation caused by the spread of malaria which affects 500 million people a year; recognises the success of the Global Fund to date, in which the UK Government, supported by all parties, has played a significant role; further notes the need to re-commit to achieving the Millennium Development Goals; and urges the Government to encourage other donor governments and the international community in general to take further urgent action to ensure that the Global Fund can continue to provide life-saving tools for the eradication of malaria.
