That this House congratulates the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment on holding the Beating of Retreat on Saturday 17th June; recognises that the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment was formed out of the Queen's Lancashire Regiment, the King's Own Border Regiment and the King's Regiment; pays tribute to all those who served in the regiment and recognises that the strength of the regiment rests in Lancashire where 90 per cent. of its recruits come from; and looks forward to the regiment following in the finest traditions of its predecessors, serving with honour and distinction.
