Motion text

That this House congratulates GoinGreen's G-Wiz, the first mass produced, commercially available and emission-free electric car in Europe on selling more than 500 cars in and around London; welcomes GoinGreen's plans to expand into Birmingham; believes that the increased availability and use of electric emission-free cars reduces the damage done to the environment by petrol and diesel fuelled vehicles; recognises that the car will play an important role in reducing carbon dioxide emissions from the transport sector if future targets for reducing emissions are to be met; and calls on the Government to encourage the use of electric cars, in particular through the introduction of on-street recharging points and by tightening emission standards.
