Motion text

That this House condemns the Post Office closure plans and supports the campaign in the Daily Post to save threatened rural post offices in Wales; notes that they provide a vital service to the community; further notes that the processing of benefits and pension entitlements and other Government contracts provide sub-post offices with an invaluable source of income; is concerned at the way in which government has taken away these income streams; and calls on the Government to re-allocate contracts to sub-post offices and to provide adequate funding for sub-post offices to expand on the services they offer.
