Motion text

That this House notes that a number of hon. Members who voted in favour of the war in Iraq did so on the basis of the information provided to them by the Prime Minister; notes with grave concern that the information provided was incorrect in terms of weapons of mass destruction and the 45 minute warning; recognises that those hon. Members now regret their decision to vote in favour of the war with Iraq; views with concern that the Prime Minister was not present at the debate on the Iraq war on Wednesday 24th January; calls upon him to account for his actions; and further calls upon the Leader of the House to provide Parliamentary time to allow this House to reach a decision as to whether British armed forces should remain in Iraq.

After a motion has been tabled, other Members can table amendments to it. Amendments to this motion are shown below.

VOTE ON THE WAR WITH IRAQ (Amendment 1)
after `Minister', insert `whilst also engaging their critical faculties in order to, amongst other things, assess for themselves the reliability of the evidence presented by the Government, the contradictory information arising from the UN weapons inspectors and the consideration of the implications of military action upon regional stability and the potential for it to stimulate future acts of terrorism.'.
