Motion text

That this House notes the case of Jack E. Alderman, who is due to be executed by the state of Georgia, USA, in May of this year; expresses concern that he has been on death row for 32 years; further notes that in 1993 the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council found that to keep a man facing the agony of execution over a long extended period of time constituted an inhuman act; and calls upon the Governor of Georgia to intervene and for people to raise awareness of the issue by visiting the Exonerate Jack website.
