Motion text

That this House is concerned about the rise of binge drinking and the effects on the health of individuals and the impact on quality of life that this problem causes; believes that education has an important role to play in reducing the problem of binge drinking; continues to support the pub trade's efforts to curb irresponsible drinking and promotions; supports the Challenge 21 initiative; calls for greater enforcement of the law regarding sales to those under 18 years old; and believes that all licensed retailers, insofar as they do promote alcohol sales, should do so in a socially responsible way.
