Motion text

That this House congratulates Channel 4 on winning five awards at the 2007 Rose d'Or Television Festival, including the best of 2007 special prize for its documentary film Young at Heart; further congratulates the independent production companies responsible for making these outstanding programmes; notes that Channel 4 programmes won in all three of the available arts categories; including for a new opera Man On The Moon; believes that television has an important role to play in showcasing and commissioning art; and welcomes the fact that UK broadcasters, including Channel 4, continue to lead the world in making and broadcasting television programmes of the highest quality.
