Motion text

That this House remembers the massacre in the then United Nations designated safe area of Srebrenica 12 years ago when over 8,500 Bosnian Muslims were killed; regrets that Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic, President of the then Republika Srpska and the Commander of Bosnia Serb Army respectively, both remain at large over a decade after they were indicted by the International War Crimes Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in the Hague; urges that every effort be made to find and apprehend them; notes that there will not be long-term reconciliation in the region until they and other indictees face justice; re-affirms the long-term goal that Bosnia-Herzegovina should join the Euro-Atlantic institutions, once the requirements for membership have been met; and urges support for the new High Representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Miroslav Lajcak, in his efforts to uphold the Dayton Peace Accords.
