105th ANNIVERSARY OF ROTARY INTERNATIONAL
EDM #872
Tabled 22 February 2010
2009-10 Session
That this House congratulates Rotary on the 105th anniversary of its founding; notes that Rotary is one of the most senior international service organisations in the world and is at the forefront of eradicating polio in partnership with the World Health Organisation and the Gates Foundation; applauds innovations that have been facilitated by the organisation such as the ShelterBox, which has proved so crucial where natural disasters have occurred; further notes that over 7,000 ShelterBoxes have been sent to Haiti in the wake of the recent earthquake; and further recognises the selfless service provided by Rotarians and Rotary Clubs around the world.
