Motion text

That this House welcomes the announcement of the Home Secretary that she is to review the medical evidence in the case of Mr Gary McKinnon prior to making a decision on his extradition to the United States; notes that this is in keeping with the unanimous recommendations of the Home Affairs Select Committee in the last Parliament which concluded that the Home Secretary does have the legal power to prevent this extradition, and the legal evidence submitted by Mr McKinnon's constituency Member of Parliament, the hon. Member for Enfield, Southgate; and hopes that this review can be concluded as a matter of urgency to avoid any further anxiety for Mr McKinnon and his family.
