That this House recognises the importance of Malta as an independent state; notes that its present Nationalist Tory government have predictably created problems for workers on the island; and wishes the Maltese Labour Party every success when the General Election takes place on 22nd February.

leave out from 'state' to end and add 'and therefore does not believe in commenting on the forthcoming general election; but notes that the Maltese Labour party when in government before, did great damage to the country and its interests, not least in pursuing an alliance with Libya.'
