That this House welcomes the first annual Trustees' Week between 25 and 31 October as an opportunity to recruit new trustees and to celebrate the work of around 800,000 charity trustees in England and Wales and the vital contribution they make to civil society; notes that around half of charity boards currently have a vacancy; encourages everyone to think about the difference they could make to the community by becoming a trustee and to look at the Trustees' Week website for more information; and thanks the Charity Commission, the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Charity Trustee Network, Getting on Board, NCVO and Reach Volunteeringfor having had the foresight to establish Trustees' Week as an annual event.
