Motion text

That this House congratulates India on hosting a successful Commonwealth Games in New Delhi; notes that despite initial concerns and negative media reports, the Games were held without any security incidents, that crowds grew as the Games progressed, that no health and safety incidents occurred during the Games and that those who participated in and attended the Games had a very positive experience; and further notes that the success of the Games has provided the sporting world and India with a legacy of first-class sporting venues and a new enthusiasm for athletics and new sports among the Indian people.
