Motion text

That this House believes that a new direction is needed in order to ensure that Britain is a world leader in the development of new green technologies as well as increasing energy efficiency so as to protect people from the most unhealthy and inefficient homes; notes the need for a strong Green Deal as part of the Energy Security and Green Economy Bill to ensure that by 2020 seven million homes in the UK are energy efficient, reducing emissions by 60 per cent.; and calls for the prioritisation within the Bill of the establishment of one common climate fund to help developing countries adapt to climate change, develop low carbon economies and protect their environment.
