Motion text

That this House notes that this year marks the 29th anniversary of the Falkland Islands conflict and the liberation of the Islands on 14 June 1982 by the forces of Her Majesty the Queen; recalls the magnificent sacrifices made by British armed forces in heroically liberating the Islands and securing the unconditional surrender of the Argentine forces who had illegally invaded the Islands on 2 April 1982; remains resolutely dedicated to strengthening the historic ties between Britain and the Falkland Islands; reaffirms the continued support of the United Kingdom on maintaining the Islands as a self-governing British Overseas Territory; and looks forward to many more years of the Union Flag flying proudly above Stanley and throughout the Islands.
