Motion text

That this House notes with sadness, and marks with honour, the passing of Colonel Chanan Singh Dhillon, who was renowned as a Punjabi Sikh hero of the Second World War, who worked tirelessly on behalf of Indian veterans of the war and their families, and who successfully campaigned to persuade the British and allied governments to recognise the major contribution by Indian soldiers and civilians to the allies' war efforts.
