There has been an amendment to this EDM.
That this House welcomes the adoption by consensus in the United Nations General Assembly on 20th November 1989 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the signing of the Convention in April 1990 by Her Majesty's Government; believes that this Convention is of great importance to the enhancement of children's rights throughout the world, welcomes its ratification by 100 countries; and continues to call on Her Majesty's Government to proceed to ratification at the earliest possible opportunity.
