That this Housewelcomes the decision by the Surrey Police Force Chief Constable to halt plans to invite bids from private firms to run integral parts of Surrey Police; further welcomes the decision to allow time for a proper public consultation; calls on the Government to listen to the concerns of the Police Federation, Unite and Unison regarding the use of private companies within any police force; and recognises that police services should not be run for profit but for people.
