That this House notes that the Redwell Inn had been a popular country inn since the 17th century but had fallen into disrepair; further notes that in July 2010 it was bought and refurbished by Dennis Talbot, Susan Talbot, Robert Talbot and Kelly Thornton; commends them for operating a smokehouse to smoke fish from local fishermen; further commends their commitment to local food production in both the Redwell Inn and its shop; believes that local produce is vital to the economy of the Lune Valley and throughout Lancashire; further believes that the Talbot family serve as an example to others and that high quality local produce makes for a vibrant business; and thanks them on behalf of the people of Lancashire for the important work they do.
