That this House congratulates acting State President Nicolas Maduro for his victory in Venezuela's special Presidential elections, which have followed the sad death of the late Hugo Chavez; notes that President Maduro promised to continue Hugo Chavez's Socialist revolution in Venezuela during his election campaign; further notes the transparent and fair manner in which the elections in Venezuela took place and looks forward to closer ties between Venezuela and the UK; believes that the Prime Minister should take special responsibility for improving Britain's relations with Venezuela; and urges him to extend an invitation for newly-elected President Nicolas Maduro, to visit this country at the earliest opportunity.
