That this House welcomes the majorities of 400 to 175 and 366 to 161 in the House on the Second and Third Readings of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill; notes the rejection of amendments to that Bill by ratios of seven to one; further notes the present prohibitions on same-sex marriage was a redefinition of marriage by amendment in 1973 to the Marriage Act 1949; and declares that extending marriage to others follows the second great commandment.
