Motion text

That this House considers it totally inappropriate for the Chairman of the Leeds General Infirmary National Health Service Trust, Mr Tony Clegg, to make use of private hospital facilities; feels that it is an insult to all those on the waiting list for the General Infirmary and shows that he has little confidence in the National Health Service reforms which he is paid a substantial salary to implement; and calls upon him to resign from his position as Chairman of the Leeds General Infirmary Trust.

TRUST CHAIRMAN'S USE OF PRIVATE HOSPITAL FACILITIES (Amendment 1)
leave out from 'considers' to end and add 'that in a democracy the Chairman of the Leeds General Infirmary National Health Service Trust is fully entitled to choose the method of treatment he desires bearing in mind that by having treatment in a private hospital he releases a bed in the Trust hospital for someone else's use; and notes that as always socialists wish to remove freedom of choice from individuals.'.
