Motion text

That this House, whilst it recognises the right to protest, notes its concern, and the concern of some patients, regarding planned protests outside the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow, concerning the hospital's name; believes that hospitals are a place for patients, patients' families and staff to go about their business without any unnecessary disruption or distress; considers the location of the planned protest inappropriate and poorly judged; and urges organisers to relocate their protest to a more appropriate place that will allow freedom of expression to take place, whilst at the same time avoiding causing unnecessary distress to patients, families and staff.
