That this House recognises the achievements of 48 year-old Nadir Shah Nangarhari and 17 year-old Fairooz Khan Nangarhari from Afghanistan who have been cycling through 13 different countries over the last six months to help promote peace and solidarity from Afghanistan and among its worldwide diaspora; notes that the trip has been supported by Afghanistan's National Olympic Committee and Foreign Ministry; welcomes the recent arrival of the two cyclists in Glasgow following an invitation from the Afghan Human Rights Foundation and Glasgow Afghan United; further notes that the journey of these ambassadors of peace is planned to conclude in the US where they hope to meet the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon; congratulates both men for their commitment and dedication to spreading their message of peace and solidarity; and further recognises the significant contribution Afghan families have made to society in Glasgow, Scotland, and across the UK.
