That this House congratulates Paul Di Resta of Bathgate, West Lothian, on his recent return to the pinnacle of motorsport by his appointment as reserve driver in the Williams Formula One team for the 2016 season; notes Scotland's long history with motorsport from Jim Clark and Jackie Stewart to David Coulthard, Susie Wolff and Dario Franchitti; further recognises the importance of Scotland's contribution towards safety in Formula One and the combined efforts of Scottish engineers towards pushing the boundaries of motorsports capabilities, whilst maintaining safety for drivers, teams and spectators alike; and wishes Paul and the rest of the drivers and teams in the Formula One field luck for the forthcoming season.
