Motion text

That this House congratulates Rangers FC Charity Foundation for reaching its ambitious target to fund one million vaccines for UNICEF to protect some of the world's most vulnerable children from a variety of deadly yet preventable diseases, including measles, polio and typhoid, a target reached by the raising of £300,000 over the last three years; notes that this donation builds upon the Foundation's eight-year partnership with UNICEF, having previously funded education projects in India and the refurbishment of seven health centres in north-eastern Togo, providing clean water and basic medical aid to 125,000 children; further notes other donations which have included £70,000 to Glasgow City Mission's Winter Night Shelter, £25,000 to four armed services-related charities, £10,000 to the Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity, and a further donation planned of £25,000 to Alzheimer Scotland; and further congratulates the generosity and commitment of the supporters who have raised those amounts and encourages their future work.
