50TH ANNIVERSARY OF STIRLING ALBION FOOTBALL CLUB'S FAR EAST TOUR

That this House recognises that June 2016 marks the 50th anniversary of Stirling Albion Football Club's Far East tour; notes that en route to the Far East, Stirling Albion played AEK Athens, losing 2-0, and an Iranian select team, winning 1-0, before travelling to Japan to play both a Japanese select team, winning 3-1, and the Japanese national team, winning 4-2; further recognises the development of football in Japan over the preceding 50 years has seen the Samurai Blue become one of Asia's best international teams, winning the Asian Cup four times and reaching the last 16 of the World Cup; and commends the part played by Stirling Albion Football Club in the development of the beautiful game in Japan.
