That this House congratulates the pupils, teachers and communities of St John's Barrhead, Braidbar, Giffnock, Eaglesham and Thornliebank Primary Schools on their outstanding achievement in being awarded Sport Scotland Gold status; recognises the huge commitment this has involved from sports committees, sports clubs, school staff, active schools teams and dedicated volunteers; applauds the imaginative and inclusive approach to engaging young people with health, sport and fitness; further recognises that the sustainability of the engagement of the pupils is dependent upon activities which interest them, and notes the outstanding partnership-working in this regard with athletics, football, cricket, Bollywood dancing and many other groups focussed on ensuring enjoyable exercise; recognises that these schools join Kirkhill, Carolside, Busby and Netherlee Primary Schools, and Mearns Castle, Eastwood, Williamwood, St Ninian's and Woodfarm High Schools in East Renfrewshire as Gold Award holders; and encourages these schools in their continuing positive influence on the lives of young people and the wider community.
