That this House congratulates Gairloch Heritage Museum in receiving a Heritage Lottery Fund grant of £725,600 for its project to refurbish an existing Cold War Anti-Aircraft Operations Room that sits on a three-quarters of an acre site close to the current museum location which has latterly been used as a Highland Council roads depot, but the Council is in agreement to transfer it to the Gairloch and District Heritage Society and has started to clear the site; notes that the building will provide approximately three times the current space for the museum's collection and other facilities; further notes that relocation of the museum will achieve considerable improvements in the environmental conditions and facilities that the museum is able to offer and enhanced visitor facilities; and notes that the Museum will build on its varied and well developed activity programme, utilising its volunteer team and connections made with local professionals to provide a range of engaging events, workshops and training opportunities to appeal to a range of audiences.
