That this House notes the forced closure of over 100 Baha'i-owned shops and businesses in Iran over the first week of November by the Iranian authorities; further notes that these shops were reportedly sealed after they had voluntarily closed to mark two Baha'i Holy Days; notes serious concerns reported by UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon, and Special Rapporteur, Dr Ahmad Shaheed, relating to the unprecedented levels of economic pressure being placed on the peaceful Baha’i community in Iran; and calls upon the Government to ask the administration of President Rouhani for an explanation of these reports.
