Motion text

That this House pays tribute to the incredible bravery of the firefighters who tackled the horrific fire at Grenfell Tower; recognises that firefighters went into the face of extraordinary danger in service of the public; notes that firefighters carry out this service daily throughout the UK; further recognises that they have faced a significant cut in living standards over recent years; calls on the Government to reverse all cuts to funding to the fire and rescue services; and further calls on the Government to ensure that the Fire Brigades Union plays a central role as participants in the public inquiry, that whole time firefighters are available throughout the country 24-hours a day and that they are given the pay and job security that they deserve.
