Motion text

That this House warmly welcomes the arrival of the People's March Against the Poll Tax in London after marching in contingents from Glasgow, Liverpool and Bristol to protest against the imposition of the poll tax; notes the warm response the marchers have had in the hundreds of towns and cities it has visited on the way and the strength of feeling generated against the poll tax which has led to 14 million non-payers in Scotland, England and Wales; and wishes the People's March Against the Poll Tax success in its aim of permanently removing this tax from existence.
