Motion text
That this House expresses sorrow and concern following the tragic Grenfell Tower fire; welcomes the quick response of local authorities in Coventry, the West Midlands and nationally in testing the fire safety of high rise residential buildings, schools and other public buildings; is concerned by the high-rate of failures of safety tests amongst these buildings across the country; urges the Government to ensure that any recommendations of the forthcoming public inquiry are promptly implemented; and calls on the Government to issue a statement clarifying exactly what additional funding and support local authorities will receive in order to implement and retrofit new fire safety regulations as necessary.
