Motion text
That this House commends Sustainable Thinking Scotland on its pilot project at the Walled Garden within Kinneil Estate, Bo'ness; understands that this is a community interest company set up to help address social, economic and environmental issues within the Falkirk District Area; applauds its use of local woodland waste and a carbon negative process, in order to create custom soil types to be used in the production of fruit and vegetables for donation to local food banks; recognises that this encourages food production, waste reduction and carbon abatement; notes that the project would not have been possible without the support of CVS Falkirk, Falkirk Council, Forth Environmental Link, Buildbase Carron, Torwood Garden Centre, Equine Outreach; further applauds Bo'ness storehouse food bank and Forth Valley Community Focus, who are also working to tackle employment issues and food poverty in the local area; wishes Sustainable Thinking Scotland continued success; and looks forward to the day when food donations are no longer necessary in the UK.
