Motion text
That this House welcomes the publication of the final report of the Bach Commission on Access to Justice; notes Lord Bach's recommendation that, where the state is funding one or more of the other parties at an inquest, it should also provide legal aid for representation of the family of the deceased; further welcomes the publication of The Right Reverend James Jones' Hillsborough Review; further notes his recommendation for proper participation of bereaved families and proportionate legal funding at inquests; welcomes the Ministry of Justice's recently published Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012: Post-Legislative Memorandum; and calls on the Government to provide legal aid at all inquests whenever the state is funding one or more of the other parties.
