That this House sends its condolences following the passing of Gavin Stamp, the founding Chairman of the Alexander Thomson Society; notes Gavin founded the Society in 1991, a memorable event attended by some 400 people on the evening of 9 April 1991; further notes that the gifted historian's efforts in being a ceaseless campaigner for good architectural causes; recognises his work in saving Holmwood House and curating the successful exhibition, Thomson - The Unknown Genius held at the Lighthouse during Glasgow's Year of Culture in 1999; and offers its heartfelt gratitude for defending and fighting for the preservation of Thomson's architectural legacy.
