Motion text
That this House congratulates the Ice Maiden team for successfully crossing Antarctica unsupported, towing sledges by muscle-power alone over more than 1,000 miles in one of the world's most extreme and hostile environments, and arriving two days ahead of schedule on 20 January 2018; notes that this is the first time a team of women from anywhere in the world have achieved such a feat, following on from Felicity Aston's record-breaking solo Antarctic crossing in 2012; and considers that their achievement should stand as testament to the incredible levels of physical endurance, mental determination and teamwork that exists among women serving in the British Army and Army Reserve.
