Motion text

That this House supports the work of Wayne Sharrocks who campaigns on the issues of mental health in the Armed Forces and the dangers of enlisting at age 16; notes that mental health disorders among the UK Armed Forces have increased by 78 per cent since 2007; further notes Wayne's background as a veteran who enlisted aged 17 and completed two tours of Afghanistan before leaving the Army after seven years of service; admires his dedication to creating a documentary film entitled, Life After War, highlighting the struggles of young veterans and showing where they can find help; and welcomes the opportunity to work with Wayne to raise awareness of mental health in the Armed Forces and the dangers of enlisting in the Army at 16.
