Motion text
That this House recognises the requirement for a significant transfer of Channel 4 facilities out of London; notes that the West Midlands region has huge potential for creative arts and technology; further notes its strategically central location; notes that its young, digital and diverse population will have a positive effect on future Channel 4 output; that the innovative nature of its technology sector can help diversify Channel 4's business model; commends the work of the West Midlands Growth Company in helping HSBC's retail function, PwC and ASOS relocate seamlessly; and calls on the Government to persuade Channel 4 to look to the regions as an opportunity to meet its duties as a public broadcaster.
