Motion text
That this House welcomes the appointment of Martin Griffths to the position of UN Special Envoy to Yemen; recognises the vast experience that Martin has acquired over years of service developing political dialogue between governments and insurgents in a range of countries across Asia, Africa and Europe; notes that the current UN Resolution 2216 no longer accurately reflects the situation on the ground in Yemen and will be an impediment to peace talks; and calls on the Government to introduce a new UN Security Council Resolution at the UN Security Council.
