That this House notes the German Federal Administrative Court's decision that cities in Germany will be allowed to ban older diesel vehicles from some areas; recognises the polluting impact that diesel cars have on the environment; acknowledges diesel emissions contain nitrogen oxides which can cause respiratory disease and is an urban pollutant; further notes that cities across Europe are not meeting air quality standards; and calls on the Government to proactively support the production of electric cars.
