SKY PARK
EDM #62
Tabled 04 November 1991
1991-92 Session
That this House notes the rapid rise in unemployment in Kingston-upon-Thames, now running at 104 per cent. higher than a year ago; also notes the lack of training and other employment opportunities in Kingston and surrounding areas; and calls upon the Government publicly to support the Skypark proposals which are an imaginative and realistic attempt to solve the problems of the closures of BAe Kingston, and which have been put forward by the workforce with the full backing of Kingston-upon-Thames Borough Council and Kingston Polytechnic.
