INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS AND LACK OF CONCILIATION AT ACAS

Motion text

That this House notes that the members of the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) working for the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) face unmanageable workloads and steps to downgrade other aspects of their work; considers it ironic that the very service responsible for mediating disputes about workplace relations has failed to undertake appropriate consultation with its own employee representatives; resolves to support the industrial action being taken by PCS members in the absence of meaningful negotiations; and urges ACAS management to prioritise efforts to reach a resolution with its own workforce.
